PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Xbox One Launch Details

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will launch on Xbox One on December 12, as announced at Paris Games Week. The console version arrives through the Xbox Game Preview program, Microsoft’s early-access initiative similar to Steam’s Early Access. This approach allows PUBG Corp. to release the game before it is fully finished, then refine it based on player feedback and ongoing development.

Community-Driven Development

The Xbox version will initially be slightly different from the current PC build, with features and functionality rolling out over time. PUBG Corp. CEO Chang Han Kim emphasized this iterative process: “We’re approaching development on Xbox One with the same community-driven focus that we’ve taken with the game on PC. As a result, the ultimate battle royale experience that fans play on Xbox One will be slightly different than what players know today on PC.” The goal is to eventually align both versions, and player feedback starting from day one is considered critical to success.

PUBG is a multiplayer online battle royale game—a last-man-standing experience that has developed a massive following on PC and Twitch. The Xbox release brings this formula to console gamers for the first time, with the promise of ongoing updates based on community input.

Exclusive Cosmetics

Three limited-edition cosmetic packs will be available exclusively for Xbox players: the PUBG Warrior Pack, PUBG Accessory Pack, and PUBG Tracksuit Pack. These offer console owners unique in-game items to stand out on the battlefield as the game evolves.
