Neon Disabled in Valorant: Bug Fix 12.09
Riot Games disabled Neon on PC on May 7 after discovering a graphics exploit tied to her Fast Lane ability that compromised competitive integrity. The bug allowed players using lower graphics settings to see through Fast Lane’s wall, effectively granting a wallhack advantage. The developer announced the disablement on X, stating that Neon will remain unavailable on PC until patch 12.09, which will deliver both a bug fix and additional balance changes targeting areas where she is considered over-tuned.
Riot noted that they have been working on Neon adjustments “for a while,” and the upcoming patch will address the exploit while toning down parts of her kit that have drawn criticism. Recent updates have already targeted the agent: patch 12.08 fixed a High Gear bug, and patch 11.08 adjusted her run length and fuel regain rate. These changes follow sustained community calls for a rebalance, driven by Neon’s status as one of Valorant’s most-used agents due to her overwhelming speed and disruptive playstyle.
The competitive integrity breach is not the first time Riot has temporarily removed an agent for an exploit. In late June, Omen was taken offline after a Dark Cover bug allowed him to spawn at unintended locations. The Neon disablement affects PC play only; no mention was made of console or other platforms. Players can expect her return in 12.09, alongside the promised fixes and balance tweaks.
