Marvel Rivals Launch Date, Season 0 Details & Roster

Marvel Rivals is scheduled to launch on December 6, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The opening season is titled Season 0: Dooms’ Rise and will last for the first month after launch. Creative director Guangyun “Guangguang” Chen confirmed in a video that all 33 launch characters will be available from day one, clarifying earlier uncertainty about a staggered release. To build anticipation, the game’s social channels are featuring one character each day ahead of launch; among the recently highlighted heroes are Hulk and Adam Warlock, with the remaining six unannounced characters expected to be revealed soon.

Launch Season and Future Content

Season 0 includes nine maps and the full 33‑character roster. This initial season is the shortest; future seasons will run three months each and introduce new heroes, maps, and game modes. The first full season, Season 1, is planned to begin in early January 2025. Guangguang did not specify how many additional characters will arrive in Season 1 but noted that more would be added over time.

Monetization

Monetization revolves around a seasonal battle pass filled with cosmetic items and an in‑game store for direct purchases. The development team has stated that there will be no pay‑to‑win elements, keeping all gameplay advantages tied to skill rather than spending.
